Analisis Keberhasilan Suksesi Perusahaan Keluarga di Kota Padang

Abstract

The last few years family companies have started to decline and are even many have bankrupt . Mostly family business in Padang City are difficult to develop and stuck on first generation. So, the purpose of this study is to analyze the  success on   succession of family business at the city of Padang. In this research the succession planning, top management outside family and founder influences are  as indepentdent varibles. The amount of samples was used hundred respondents by identifying each of the family companies that they have in Padang city. The sample  was using conveniece and porposive sampling technique. Respondents are active managers on family companies. Furthermore, the data collection methods are interviews, observations and questionnaires. The research method used descriptive and quantitative analysis method by analyzing each dimension of variables that related to the succession planning of family company in Padang city. As statistically, this reasearch used multiple regression methods to see the effect of variables to the success on succession of family business at Padang city. The result of the study found that the succession planning and founder’s effects variables can influence significanly to the success on succession of family business, but the variable of top management outside family business is not significantly effected the success on succession of family business.
