Abstract

Before operating an engine, a power acceptance test process needs to be conducted. Power acceptance test is a test to determine the engine's feasibility to operate with parameters that include speed, shaft horse power, fuel flow, specific fuel consumption, and temperature. The stages in power acceptance engine include engine shipping, engine installation on test bed, prior to start check in control room, test check for tester and principal tester, then general engine test is conducted with the sequence of compressor washing, test oil circulation, fuel and oil leaks, ground idle, running in/power acceptance engine (with parameters speed, shaft horse power, fuel flow, specific fuel consumption, and temperature). Then acceleration and deceleration, vibration survey, oil consumption test, test bed calibration are conducted. Next, engine receiving condition check is performed to be returned to the customer.

From the test results, it can be determined that the Dart 7 MK 534-2 engine is considered airworthy with the SHP parameter having reached the minimum limit of 1880 SHP and its temperature and specific fuel consumption do not exceed the maximum limits allowed, which are 790°C and 0.68500pph/Hp, respectively. The efficiency value during take-off conditions obtained is 27.8%, which is still efficient according to the standard. It can be concluded that the Dart7 MK 534-2 engine is airworthy or in the Acceptance category for operation.
