Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Board of the International Journal of Applied Software Engineering, Multimedia, and Information System (JASMIN) acknowledges the unacceptable nature of plagiarism and thus has implemented the subsequent policy outlining the specific actions (penalties) that will be taken upon the detection of plagiarism or similarities in articles submitted for publication in JASMIN. A technology, such as Turnitin or Plagiarism Checkers, will be utilized by JASMIN to identify similarities between textual content in article drafts and the final version of articles that are prepared for publication. The submitted papers are subject to a maximum limit of 20% for similarities. If we identify a similarity index exceeding 20%, the article will be sent back to the author for editing and resubmission.

Definition:

Plagiarism is defined as the act of utilizing or closely replicating the language and ideas of another author, and presenting them as one's own authentic creation.

Policy:

Papers must be authentic, unpublished, and not currently awaiting publication elsewhere. Any content directly derived from another source must be explicitly distinguished from the current original text by the use of (1) indentation, (2) quote marks, and (3) source identification.

In order to comply with fair use standards, any text that exceeds the limit of two or three sentences or its equivalent, as well as any graphic material that is reproduced from another source, must obtain permission from the copyright holder and, if possible, the original author(s). Additionally, it is necessary to identify the source, such as a previous publication.

When instances of plagiarism are detected, the Editor in Chief assumes the responsibility of reviewing the manuscript and will determine appropriate actions based on the degree of plagiarism revealed, in accordance with the prescribed rules.
